PCV DRIVER TRAINING  

D/D1 LICENSE 

Category D1/D License driver training course for Coaches /Minibus 

Excellence coaches have fully qualified PCV (Passenger carrying vehicles) Instructors, who aim to deliver the best.  

Our aim is to work closely with our applicants making it easier for them to pass all tests quickly and efficiently as possible. 

There is a step-by-step guide that shows you how to gain your PCV license.  

1 Medical examination  

Apply for a provisional license 

The medical examination is carried out by a doctor. 

2 Driving assessment category D/D1 (PASSENGER VEHICLE) 

All drivers are different,  

A pre-training road driving assessment gears the course length to individuals needs saving time and money. 

3  Pcv theory training and theory test 

You will have to buy the theory training book and Cd rom. This shows and guides you towards an understanding of questions and knowledge, which will help you to pass your test. 

4 start D/D1 Driver training 

Training will be provided for you by Excellence coaches, generally on the industry approved ratio of two trainees to each instructor. Normally staying with the same instructor right up to the end. 

5 PCV driving test – category D/D1 

The test is arranged through our block booking systems with the driving standards agency. Who will also test you. You must pass both theory and driving tests before you may legally drive a cat D/D1 vehicle on the road. 

6 final steps 

Send pass certificates for both theory and driving tests to Swansea for full cat D/D1 license. 

Excellence coaches want you to pass first time and by assessing you before we recommend a course length. We aim to achieve pass rates 10% above the national pass rate 

Some people may like the idea of having extra lessons if available. So, on the test day they are ready to grab their D/D1 LICENSE
